Melanie Barcenas, who became the youngest NWSL player ever to appear in a regular-season match when she made her debut for San Diego Wave, explains her meteoric rise to the top of the women's game.

Barcenas, who plays alongside USWNT legend Alex Morgan, has already appeared for the United States U17 side and once found herself the cover star of TIME Magazine.
